Ashley Ryles
Hospital Manager
Ashley joined Pioneer in 2007 as our Finance Manager after being a client for many years. Ashley’s career experience in finance and legal affairs in the software industry, as well as her years of showing hunters and jumpers, provides her with a broad understanding of Pioneer’s operational requirements. In her free time she enjoys adventure traveling, volunteering for her local humane society, and supporting wildlife conservation.

Sara Cloward
Operations Manager
After spending 12 years working in a local mixed animal practice, Sara joined Pioneer in May of 2014 as our pharmacy technician and coordinator of shipping and receiving. She is currently our Operations Manager and busy with the day to day proceedings at our hospital. With two kids and a husband who enjoy riding and rodeo, she occasionally gets a chance to ride her own horse. She also greatly enjoys the culinary arts and vinology.

Amy Weispfenning
Front Office
Amy grew up in Tracy, CA. She loves interacting with clients and is an enthusiastic team player in the front office at Pioneer. She used to be afraid of horses until five years ago she picked up the reins and conquered her fears. Now in the spring and summer, she competes in Combined Driving and pleasure drives her two horses: Quadir, an Oldenburg and Rhino, her Percheron. In her time off, she spends her time with her family and enjoys taking on a good challenge.

Elizabeth Scales
Front Office
Elizabeth grew up in Valley Springs, CA. Growing up with multiple animals, her true passion was always horses. She moved to Modesto to go to Modesto Junior College where she received her Veterinary Technician Certificate and Equine Science degree. She enjoys competing in Dressage and Hunter Jumpers. Elizabeth joined Pioneer in July 2018 as our pharmacy technician.

Matysen Matthews
Pharmacy
Matysen grew up in Valley Springs, CA. She has always had a love for animals and recently followed that love in receiving her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College. Her job as Pioneer’s Pharmacy Technician lets her enjoy not only her love for animals, but also her love for working with and getting to know the clients and the distributors we work with every day. In Matysen’s free time she enjoys cooking, hiking with her boyfriend and their fur kids Bella and Odie, and having lazy Sundays watching movies with her dogs and cats Linda and Penelope.
